If you run a WooCommerce store with customers in Ukraine, sooner or later the same question arises: how can you accept Visa, Mastercard and Privat24 payments directly on your website without sending customers to third-party services or paying a monthly fee simply to connect a payment gateway?
LiqPay is one of the most widely used payment services in Ukraine, and WooCommerce has a free official integration plugin, Baza Payment Gateway for LiqPay. This guide covers the complete setup process, from installation to the first test payment.
Want to skip ahead and get started now?
Download the plugin for free and return to this guide when you reach the settings.
What you need before you start
- A WordPress website with WooCommerce installed
- A LiqPay account registered to a sole proprietor or legal entity
- Public and private API keys from your LiqPay account
- An SSL certificate on your website. LiqPay requires HTTPS, so payments cannot be accepted without it
Step 1. Install the plugin
The plugin is free and available directly from the WordPress.org directory.
- In the WordPress admin area, go to Plugins, then Add New
- Search for “Baza Payment Gateway for LiqPay”
- Click Install, then Activate
Alternatively, download the plugin directly from the official WordPress.org page and install it manually through Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin.
Step 2. Get your LiqPay API keys
- Sign in to your account at liqpay.ua
- Open the store settings or API section
- Copy the public key (public_key) and private key (private_key)
These two values are all the plugin needs. Keep the private key secret and never publish it anywhere outside the plugin settings.
Step 3. Configure the plugin in WooCommerce
- Go to WooCommerce, Settings, Payments
- Find LiqPay in the list and click Manage
- Paste the public and private keys into the corresponding fields
- Choose the payment methods you want to show customers: Visa, MasterCard, Privat24, Google Pay and Apple Pay
- Set the payment method title and the description customers will see at checkout
- Save the changes. The plugin saves its settings automatically, so each step does not require separate confirmation
All API keys are stored in the database in encrypted form. The plugin does not transmit or store customer payment details on its own servers.
Step 4. Make a test payment
Before accepting real payments, confirm that everything works correctly.
- Place a test order on your website
- Choose LiqPay at the payment step
- Enter the test card number 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any valid expiry date and CVC
- Confirm that the order receives the “Paid” status in WooCommerce
Step 5. Additional ways to display the payment form
In addition to the standard WooCommerce checkout, the plugin can display a payment form separately from the cart. This is useful when you need a “Buy now” button on a specific page or landing page.
- Gutenberg block. The “Baza LiqPay” block is available in the Widgets category and can be added directly in the page editor
- Elementor widget. Available under “Baza Widgets” for websites built with Elementor
- Shortcode. Add the payment form anywhere on the website with a single line of code
What else the plugin can do
- Telegram notifications. Receive an instant Telegram message for every new payment
- Transaction log. Review the complete history of payment operations in the admin area for easier reconciliation
- Email notifications. Send automatic emails about successful or failed transactions
- Dynamic pricing. The plugin reads the price from WooCommerce metadata or custom fields, so prices do not need to be entered twice

Common questions
No. The plugin is completely free, with no hidden charges or monthly subscription. LiqPay sets its own transaction fee according to your account plan, and the plugin does not affect it.
Yes. Both editors are fully supported, so you can use whichever one is already configured on your website.
Your website needs a standard SSL certificate with HTTPS. LiqPay will not accept payments without it. Most hosting providers issue a free SSL certificate automatically.
Summary
Connecting LiqPay to WooCommerce takes about 10 minutes: install the plugin, paste the two keys from your LiqPay account and make a test payment. Your store can then accept payments from Ukrainian customers by card, Privat24, Google Pay and Apple Pay. No coding, monthly connection fee or hidden integration charges.
