Messenger alerts: Telegram, WhatsApp and Viber notifications
Messenger alerts (Baza Helper > Messenger alerts) tell you right away about what happens on the site. Each channel has its own card, and an event goes to every channel that is on. Tokens are stored encrypted.
Telegram
- Make a bot with @BotFather in Telegram and paste its token in Bot token.
- Write any message to the bot, or add the bot to a group or channel.
- Press Find my chats. The chat appears and one click adds it to Chats.
- Press Send a test message. Switch on Send notifications and save.
Chats takes one chat id per line. A number is a person, a group id starts with a minus sign, and a channel is its name like @mychannel. If you see No chats yet, write to the bot and try again. To keep the token out of the database, define BAZA_HELPER_TELEGRAM_TOKEN in wp-config.php.
WhatsApp uses the Cloud API of Meta. Create an app with WhatsApp in developers.facebook.com, then copy the Access token and the Phone number id (the long number shown under From in the API setup, not the phone number itself). In Send to list one phone number per line with the country code, for example +380 50 123 45 67. A business can write free text only to a number that wrote to it in the last 24 hours. A constant for the token exists: BAZA_HELPER_WHATSAPP_TOKEN.
Viber
Make a bot at partners.viber.com and paste its authentication token (or define BAZA_HELPER_VIBER_TOKEN). Set the Sender name (up to 28 characters, empty uses the site name). Viber writes only to people who subscribed to the bot, so list their ids in Viber user ids, one per line. A subscriber’s id reaches your bot’s webhook when the person subscribes or writes to the bot.
What to tell about
- A form was sent (Form entries)
- A new user registered
- A new comment
- A new WooCommerce order
- Someone was locked out after failed logins
