Baza Helper: getting started and what is inside

Baza Helper adds the site tools that do not belong in a theme, each with its own switch on one dashboard. It works with any theme. Baza Theme is optional, and Baza Theme does not depend on Baza Helper either.

Requirements and install

  • WordPress 6.5 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
  • Upload the baza-helper folder to /wp-content/plugins/ or install it from the Plugins screen, then activate it. A Baza Helper item appears in the admin menu.
  • Renamed from bbc-helper: if the old folder is installed, deactivate and remove it, because both cannot run together. Settings are kept.

Tools

  • Speed: Cache & Optimization, Images (WebP and AVIF), Google Fonts, Scripts and styles, Elementor tools.
  • SEO and analytics: Technical SEO, the on-page SEO panel, Site Icon & Manifest, Breadcrumbs, Redirects and 404, Link checker, Import from Yoast, Rank Math and SEOPress, Analytics & Verification, Cookie banner.
  • Content: Menu studio, Translation, Find and replace, Replace image, Cyrillic to Latin, Shortcode blocker.
  • Forms and contact: Form entries, Messenger alerts, Call to action, Email (SMTP).
  • Security and safety: Security, Backup & migration, Dev / staging mode, Access & data.
  • Developer: Custom CSS & JavaScript, Child theme, Git updates, Database cleanup, Diagnostics, Export & import settings.

Free and Pro

Most tools are free. The Critical CSS generator, AVIF images, Email (SMTP), Git updates and Database cleanup need a Pro licence. On the free build they show as locked cards with a Get Pro button, and nothing of them runs.

Privacy

Baza Helper makes no request to Baza Developers or any other server by default. Analytics providers load only after you enable them and, by default, only after consent. Translation sends text only to the service you connect, when you ask. The Backup tool contacts a server only when you type an address of an archive.

With Baza Booking Calendar

When Baza Booking Calendar is installed, Baza Helper adds options for it, for example deferred calendar scripts, converted images for the calendar and halls in the Menu studio. Nothing needs the calendar.

Where to start

  1. Open the Dashboard and switch on the tools you need. Read the dashboard article.
  2. Enable the page cache and WebP images for a quick speed gain.
  3. Set Technical SEO and, if you move from another SEO plugin, import its data.
  4. Turn on Security hardening and make a first backup.
