Translation: AI models, translation engines and the editor button
The Translation tab (Baza Helper > Translation) translates pages, posts, categories and tags with the AI models and translation services you already have an account with. Nothing is sent anywhere until you translate or check spelling, and keys are stored encrypted on your server and never shown again.
Connect a service
In the Services card, open a service, paste your key and press Test the connection. A successful test marks the service as verified and switches it on; save the settings to keep it. Get a key opens the provider’s page. The state chip reads Connected, Paused or Not set up.
- AI models: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral, DeepSeek, xAI, Groq, OpenRouter, Ollama and any OpenAI-compatible address.
- Translation engines: DeepL, Google Cloud Translation, Microsoft Translator and LibreTranslate.
Several services can be on at once. They work as a chain: the one with the lowest Priority number goes first and, if it fails, the next takes over.
Smart choice
Which service translates can be Choose automatically or Always the one chosen below. Automatic means titles and short labels go to a translation engine and long page text goes to an AI model, which keeps the voice and the markup. A service that cannot write the target language is skipped. When choosing automatically, prefer either Quality (AI models for page text) or Lower cost (engines first). Spell checking always uses an AI model.
Languages and style
- Language of the originals: detected from the page, else the site.
- Tone: Neutral, Friendly, Formal or Marketing.
- Languages offered in the editor narrows the list.
- Never translate these words: one brand or product name per line.
What is created
- The translation is saved as Draft or Pending review.
- Make the address from the translated title and Replace an existing translation are switches.
- With Polylang or WPML active, each translation is created in its language and linked to the original. Without them, each is a separate copy marked with its language.
- Only visible text is translated: block text, allowed attributes, the title, the excerpt and the SEO texts. Markup and images stay as they are.
Translate content and the queue
- In Translate content pick Pages and posts or Categories and tags, search, and choose the items.
- Choose the languages in Into.
- Press Add to the queue, or Translate now to do it here, one item at a time.
The queue also runs in the background through WP-Cron, so you can leave the page. Use Retry the failed and Remove finished to tidy it.
In the block editor
A Baza Helper button beside the language flag in the editor opens a menu: Translate this page, Check spelling and Helper settings. Spelling lists the fixes block by block and you choose which to apply.
Prompts
The Prompts card shows the instructions sent to the AI. The standard text is a good start; change it to match your voice. {source_language}, {target_language} and {tone} are filled in, and the answer format is added automatically. Restore the standard text brings the default back, and an unchanged prompt is stored empty so improved defaults reach your site.
