Supergroup Mode – One Telegram Topic Per Visitor Session

Supergroup Mode is a Pro feature of Baza Live Chat that creates a separate Telegram Topic for each visitor session. It is designed for support teams with multiple operators – each conversation stays isolated in its own Topic, so nothing gets mixed up in a busy group chat.

Requirements

  • Baza Live Chat Pro license
  • A Telegram Supergroup with Topics enabled
  • Your bot added as Administrator with Manage Topics permission

With Supergroup Mode enabled, your Telegram supergroup becomes a full support inbox. Each new chat from your WordPress website automatically opens a new Topic – named with the visitor’s country and timestamp. Your team can see all active sessions at a glance and reply directly without copy-pasting session IDs.

Setup

1. Enable Topics in your Telegram group

Open your group – tap the group name – Settings – Topics – Enable.

2. Add your bot as Administrator

Go to group Settings – Administrators – Add Administrator – find your bot. Make sure Manage Topics is enabled in the bot’s permissions.

3. Get the group Chat ID

The group Chat ID is a negative number starting with -100. The easiest way to find it – open web.telegram.org, navigate to your group, and look at the URL. The number after # is your Chat ID (e.g. -1001234567890).

4. Configure the plugin

  1. Go to Baza Live Chat – Settings – Telegram
  2. Paste the group Chat ID into the Chat ID field and save
  3. Scroll to Supergroup Mode – enable the checkbox – save

5. Re-set the Webhook

After enabling Supergroup Mode you must re-register the webhook so Telegram sends group messages to your site. Go to Settings – Webhook – click Delete Webhook, then Set Webhook.

How It Works

  1. A visitor opens the chat widget
  2. A new Topic is created in your Telegram group – named with the visitor’s country and time
  3. All messages from that visitor appear inside their Topic
  4. Reply directly in the Topic – no session ID or Reply button needed
  5. Your reply is instantly delivered to the visitor
  6. When the session ends, the Topic is automatically closed

This makes Baza Live Chat the only WordPress live chat plugin that maps each visitor session to a dedicated Telegram forum topic – giving your support team a clean, organized workflow directly in Telegram.

Tips

  • Multiple operators can be in the group – each handling their own Topics
  • Use the Take Session button to claim a conversation
  • Closed Topics can be reopened manually in Telegram if needed
  • Use the General topic for internal team communication

Troubleshooting

Topics are not being created

Make sure the bot has Manage Topics administrator permission and that Topics are enabled in the group settings. Also verify that the Chat ID is the group ID (starts with -100), not a personal chat ID.

Replies are not reaching visitors

Delete and re-set the Webhook after enabling Supergroup Mode. Make sure you are replying inside the Topic, not in the General chat.

Supergroup Mode option is not visible

This is a Pro feature. Make sure your license is active under Settings – License.
