Trash with translations and All languages in the posts list

Two row actions of the posts list save time on a multilingual site. They appear under a post that has translations linked by the Translation Links tool, in the post types that tool covers.

Trash with translations

  1. Open the list of posts or pages and point at a post in the default language that has translations.
  2. Press Trash with translations and confirm. The question says how many posts will move.
  3. The post and all of its translations go to the Trash. You can restore each of them from the Trash.

The action is never offered under a translation. If you may not delete one of the posts, nothing is moved and the screen says so.

All languages

Press All languages under a post to edit the post and all of its translations on one screen. Every language has a column, the default language first. When there are many languages, the columns scroll to the right.

  • Each column has the Title, the Address (slug), the Excerpt and the Text of that translation.
  • Open the editor next to the language opens the usual editor of that translation.
  • Save all languages saves every column at once.

The text is the saved text with its block markup. Change words, but leave the block comments, which look like <!-- wp:paragraph -->, as they are, or a block may break.

Posts made with a page builder

A post made with Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Bricks, Oxygen or Breakdance keeps its content outside the post text. Its column is locked and says to change it in its own editor.
